Hi there -
I'm Jim, based just outside Newbury.
I'm new to 4x4'ing, just bought my first 4x4. It's a Mitsubishi Shogun Sport 3.0 V6.
I thought I should join a forum / club before venturing out there trying to 4x4 and ending up trashing the car or worse!
I'm not really sure where to get started, but I wondered if anyone knows of any good "legal" green lanes near Newbury Berkshire? Failing that, are there any really easy "pay per day" 4x4 tracks?
I'm not ready for serious off roading yet because the 4x4 I've bought is my main every day car and the body work is immaculate on it. So I'm just looking to try out a slippery mud track or something to see how the four wheel drive works. Any ideas where I could go?
Even better still, anyone fancy meeting up this weekend?
Many thanks in advance.
Jim

Hi Jim,
I'm in Reading.
There is a few lanes out your way... I'm out tomorrow down in Petersfield on a planned event, but I'll PM you my mobile number, we can arrange something for another weekend.
Head over to Harbour Hill, Aldermaston next Sunday, the site has a good selection of easy, medium and hard routes. You'll get on fine in your 4x4.
Look forward to meeting you.
Cheers,
Paul
